The Jurassic Maths Hub is now looking to appoint four Primary teachers on to the Mastery Specialists Programme to become local experts.
The NCETM have announced details of the recruitment of a third wave of teachers to become specialists in mastery approaches to teaching primary maths. As in the previous two years, 140 primary teachers will be selected to join the Mastery Specialists programme, run by the NCETM in conjunction with Maths Hubs.
Each Maths Hub will select four teachers to take part in the development year of the programme during 2017/2018, and, in each of the following two years, work with small groups of nearby schools to help them introduce teaching for mastery themselves.
This is the latest phase of the wider Teaching for Mastery Programme, funded by the DfE, which will result in the training of 700 Mastery Specialists, who, collectively, will work with around 8000 primary schools between now and the end of school year 2019/2020.
The closing date for returning applications to the NCETM is Wednesday 19 April.
