On behalf of DfE, Education Development Trust, in partnership with Oxford University, is running an exciting research project on teaching practices in mathematics.
The TALIS Video Study is an innovative international comparative study led by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). England is one of nine countries participating in this prestigious research which will provide insight into the variety of maths teaching practices being used in classrooms across all nine countries. The findings will help us to understand the relationship between teaching practices and pupil and teacher perceptions of maths in England, and internationally.
The study is also an exciting opportunity to develop, at scale, the use of video observation to explore effective teaching and support continuing professional development. Further details on this innovative study can be found on the Education Development Trust website in the article ‘Watch Teaching and Learn More’.
