Summer Conference June 2020

Posted on March 10, 2020

Each year we host a Summer Conference to share and showcase the professional development work of local schools and teachers through the Maths Hub. We also always have engaging speakers to help us all think about our practice and the mathematics education landscape.

This year’s annual Jurassic Maths Hub Conference, ‘Developing a Comprehensive Mathematical Mindset’, will take place on Monday 22nd June 2020 at Taunton Racecourse.

This years Keynote Speakers are Dr Alf Coles, of Bristol University and Karen Wilding, Director and Lead Consultant at Karen Wilding Education Ltd.

Dr Alf Coles will lead a Secondary session in the morning titled: Mathematical Habits of Mind: what are they and how can we foster them? Plus an afternoon session for all delegates titled: 5 Myths of Learning Mathematics: how they get in the way and what we could do differently.

Karen Wilding will lead a Primary morning session titled: Helping Every Child Become a True Mathematical Thinker and Reasoner Across the Early Years and Primary.

Tickets will be £75 and include lunch and refreshments.
