The Jurassic and CODE Maths Hubs are pleased to invite you to the sixth annual conference for mathematics PD providers in the southwest, this year being held at Sandy Park, Exeter. This event is by invitation only and is for mathematics advisers and consultants, NCETM accredited PD leads, mathematics SLEs, MAT maths leads, teaching for mastery specialists, maths hub work group leads and HEI lecturers across the southwest
Problem-solving is one of the aims of the National Curriculum and features in the latest maths subject report but do we have a shared understanding of what problem-solving is, how and when we can/should teach problem-solving and how problem solving is the same/different from age 4 to age 18? This conference will provoke thinking about what we mean by problem-solving, it’s place in the mathematics curriculum and the implications for classroom practice and teacher professional development.
