PD Providers Conference 2025- For Good Reason

The Jurassic and CODE Maths Hubs are pleased to invite you to the seventh annual conference for mathematics PD providers in the southwest, this year being held at Sandy Park, Exeter.

This event is by invitation only and is for mathematics advisers and consultants, NCETM accredited PD leads, mathematics SLEs, MAT maths leads, teaching for mastery specialists, maths hub work group leads and HEI lecturers across the southwest.

Overview

Building on last year’s conference, this year we will explore two aims of the National Curriculum, problem-solving and reasoning, and consider how important they are to each other. Emerging from this exploration will be the theme of context. What part does context play in problem-solving and reasoning, how might contexts vary from age 4 to age 18 and when should they be used? This conference will provoke thinking about what we mean by problem-solving and reasoning, the place of context and implications for classroom practice and teacher professional development.
