Secondary Teaching for Mastery Options 2026/27

Who can take part?

This opportunity is for schools in England that have previously participated in a Secondary Teaching for Mastery Work Group or that have a trained Mastery Specialist in their department.

Participants should be well placed to lead change within the department.

Intended participants are teachers in schools that have previously engaged with ‘secondary teaching for mastery’ – for example, schools with a Secondary Mastery Specialist or those that have engaged with the previous Development, Embedding, and Sustaining model. Ideally, the participant in the Work Group should be a Mastery Specialist or a former Advocate.

Date/Location

More information will be available later in the year.

What is the cost?

The Work Groups are fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme so are free to participating state schools.

What this programme offers

The focus of each Work Group will be determined by local need and context, with Maths Hubs working with their participant schools informed by the subject leader community to identify and respond to their priorities.

Expectations

To support effective and sustainable implementation, there is an expectation that participants’ subject leaders attend the local subject leader community (NCP26-15).
